Entries are now closed for the Rybczynski Prize Competition 2026, kindly sponsored by KPMG.

Entrants will have the chance to win a prize of £5,000 which will be awarded at the Society’s 2026 Annual Dinner on 22 September and the author(s) of the final shortlisted entries will be invited to the dinner as guests of the SPE.
Essays had to be submitted by 1 July 2026 and should not have been published before 1 January 2025 ie. this prize is for work written and/or published between the start of the calendar year 2025 and the closing date.
The judges will be looking for around 3000 (with an absolute maximum of 4000) well-written words. The terms and conditions and 2026 entry form remain available for reference.
